As Seen On TV - Yoshi Blade Review

I happen to have a love for knives. I don't know why, maybe it's a primeval thing, but I love them and collect quite a few. Having said that, I hate cheap, worthless knives! I have some knives that were made in China. I got them free when I placed an order with Omaha Steaks last year. They couldn't have been more worthless if they had tried. Although the steaks were wonderful, just the fact they sent those darn cheap knives kinda soured my taste (no pun intended) for Omaha Steaks. But hey, this is a Yoshi Blade review, not an Omaha Steak review! LOL

Needless to say, I was very skeptical of the Yoshi Blade when I saw it on TV. I love watching Infomercials. I don't know why because I rarely buy anything from them, but I do like watching them. On most of the infomercials for knives, if you watch close, they'll cut the can, lead pipe or (whatever they're trying to dull it with) on the back of the blade and then slice the tomato really thin on the front. I was watching for this trick on the Yoshi Blade infomercial and didn't see it. That got my attention and I started to pay closer attention after that.

Yoshi Blade - First Use

Well, I get you've already guessed that I bought the knife. I have one ceramic kitchen knife that I bought after reading a ceramic knives review in a magazine. I liked it so much, that when I saw the Yoshiblade, I just had to order it, especially since the price was very reasonable.

When the box came in the mail, I opened it and examined the knife as well as the free peeler that came along with it. I love the rubber feeling handle. You can keep a firm grip on it even when your hands are wet and slippery. The knife came out of the box very sharp. I had no trouble cutting up a Pineapple that I had just bought at the store. I then used it to cut up some boneless Chicken breast for dinner and I was amazed at how thin I could cut them. In fact, I had such a good time cutting them, I changed my mind on what we were going to have for dinner. It went from baked Chicken breast in gravy to Chicken chunks. The reason was so I could have a good excuse to cut up the breast into small strips! LOL

Overall, I found the knife to be very good. It does say not to cut hard things such as bones or frozen food, so I haven't done that. I must have been pretty excited about the knife when I told my neighbor that I had bought one. She wanted to know where I bought it and I gave here the website address. By the way, don't take my word for it. Below is a YouTube video review of the Yoshi Blade by an Individual. I think you'll see what I'm talking about :)

Yoshi Blade Review - Update

Well, it's been a few weeks since my Yoshi Blades arrived. (I got one knife free when I ordered. I just had to spring for the Shipping and Handling plus the peelersI ) So far I can not tell that they have dulled a bit. I have cut all types of vegetables without needing to resharpen it. I also have used it to cut and trim meat. It's one of my favorite knives in the my drawer.

I'm still loving the rubberized handles. The knives also come with protective covers. After seeing how scary sharp they are, I'm pretty sure the covers are as much to protect you as they are to protect the knives!

I just have to complaints about the Yoshi knife. As stated above, you can't cut hard objects with it. Don't go and try to cut that lead pipe or bar of steel with these things. Number two is that they aren't dishwasher safe. You have to hand wash them and then put them away. These two things are kinda a pain, but since the darn things are so sharp, and have stayed that way for me, I still happy with my purchase and use the knives almost daily.

The peelers were a surprise as well. I thought they would be just some junk they threw in the deal to sweeten the pot. But that's not been the case! I've peeled potatoes, zuchini, apples, squash and a pumpkin at Halloween. These little peelers seem every bit as sharp as the knife! I think they're worth every bit as much as the Yoshiblade knives!

You can find the Yoshi Blade knives in a lot of places. But I bought mine from their website because they were running a Free offer. Visit their website for more information and to see what kind of specials they're running now. I think you'll really like this kitchen knife!
