How To Choose The Right LCD Screen Protectors for Iphones

I hate to admit it, but at one time I thought that all screen protectors were created the same. It took me ruining 2 iPhones before I realized that there was a difference in the quality of iphone screen protectors. I had to learn the hard way on how to choose a iPhone screen protector. What I found in my research was very amusing.

And it should go without saying, that if you ruin the screen on your iPhone, Apple will not have sympathy on you nor will the screen protector manufacturer!

One of the biggest mistakes I made was to pick the cheapest iPhone screen protectors I could find from ebay. Looking back, I thought I was really doing something getting these things for less than 50 cents per protector.

I know what you're thinking. "With so many screen protectors on the market, how am I suppose to know which ones to choose?" Well, I faced this very same problem when I bought my 3rd iPhone. Here's how I went about it.

First off, you'll want a screen protector that will allow your iPhone to be used the way it was designed. After I bought my first smartphone, I went through a lot of those cheap screen protectors. Many of them would not allow my old smartphones to work properly. You can imagine how the cheap ones worked on the new iPhones...horrible! But try as I may, I finally found some cheap ones that did work. But as I found out later, they just simply didn't protect the screen of my shiny new iPhone!

The next thing you want to be on the watch for are cheap iPhone screen protectors that do not have the anti-glare coating. This is one reason so many are cheap to begin with! A good anti-glare coating adds to the price of any screen protector. You'll be thankful you had one when you walk out into the sunlight and try using your iPhone.

If it's at all possible, try looking at the screen protector itself before purchasing it. On the package somewhere it should say whether or not it has an anti-glare coating.

Another feature you want on a good Icd screen protector for an iPhone is one that is super thin, but durable. Super thin protectors are easily found everywhere, as I found out. It's the durable part that can be a pain to find!

Check to make sure the film is invisible, or nearly as invisible as it can be. I once ordered 20 screen protectors and they said they were super thin and invisible once installed. I'm not sure what happened, but once I had one on my iPhone, it looked like a Hefty trash bag! That thing was horrible!

I know it should go without saying, but be sure to buy an iPhone screen protector that fits your phone. So many of the junk protectors out there are a "one size fits all". When you get them, you have to cut them to fit, which can be an ordeal in and of itself. It's not necessary! There are many excellent manufacturers out there that offer form fitting screen savers to fit every model of iPhone and Smart phone on the market today.

The one size fits all protectors are just a way that the manufacturer makes and markets cheap protectors for cheapos like I used to be. I had to find out the hard way that "cheap iphone screen protectors" actually ended up costing me several hundreds of dollars in the long run!

If you're like me, then you hate trying to read email or text messages in public! I can't stand it when nosy people are trying to read my emails, see my text messages or view my Facebook page when I'm on my iPhone!

Luckily, we as iPhone users have several choices when it comes to iPhone screen protectors for privacy and security.

The first one I would point you toward is a mirror screen protector for iPhones. I know what you're thinking "A mirrored finish on my iPhone, how on Earth will I ever see the screen?!" Trust me, you will. And the better quality mirror screen protectors will look nearly invisible except for the mirrored finish when view at any angle other than straight on. So that nosy, obnoxious passenger next to you on the plane can't read that hot and steamy email from your partner! How cool is that!

Another option for a screen protector that offers privacy and security for iPhones is one that has what is called a "frosted privacy guard" on it. This perform just like they sound. They have a frosted covering that prevents nosy people from looking the screen of your iPhone while you're using it.

All in all, I think most people prefer the mirror finished iPhone screen protector. If for no other reason than so they can look at their self!
